Notification of tasks not working in IOS

Post by gerliste »

I'm using iOS 14.2 and EPIM:

An alarm reminder of a task is not shown on the iPhone. It doesn't matter if I set the alarm on the PC and sync or do it manually on the phone. In the iPhone settings is also not shown any setup for setting up notifications for EPIM. Any ideas?

Sorry, but I think I have a new/old issue. After the app update to solve the sync problem, the notification of tasks doesn't work anymore. The app has permission to show notifications, but nothing happens. I didn't test the notification of calender appointments...
Best regards

We're not able to reproduce the problem. Please create a new test task, set an alarm to sound couple of minutes from now and check if it works.

Thanks for the reply. Reminder of tasks created on PC is still not working. I created different tasks in different categories and different notification settings, nothing worked.
Tasks created with notification on IPhone are also not working...
A small side question: If i create a new task on phone, why I can just set start and due date but not time?

---------------
I reinstalled the iOS app and created a new sync-profile, nothing changed, no notification of tasks.

If you create a new task with a reminder, will there be the bell icon shown besides its name in the list of tasks?

So far only dates without times are supported on iOS EPIM.

I tried it again, created tasks with notification on iPhone and PC, the bell icon is shown but nothing is happening. As said for appointments, the notification works fine. I also changed notificaton settings in iOS, nothing changed. No idea what else I could try.

Was the notification set for some time in the future? If you create a new test task with a reminder on an iPhone and then sync it with WinEPIM, will notification sound in WinEPIM for that test task when it's time?

Hi, yes the notification was set in the future. This way it works, I set a task with reminder on the iPhone, sync with WinEPIM and I get a notification in WinEPIM, and still not on IPhone...

Can you please post a screenshot from your iPhone showing notification options in the system settings for EPIM?

I played a little bit with following result:
- I deleted the app on IPhone
- installed the app
- created a task on iPhone with notification -> works!
- sync with WinEPIM
- created a task on IPhone with notification -> doesn't work!
- creating a new database on WinEPIM
- creating task with notification in WinEPIM
- sync with iPhone -> works!
Obvioulsy the notification problem arises due sync with my database, no idea why.
Is there anyway to create somehow a new database and add the content of the old database?
My database is quite large and it would be not possible to copy all data manually...

A more detailed explaination of the problem, maybe it helps to solve the issue:
- the problem is obviously not my database
- i deleted the app on iPhone and created a new database on WinEPIM
- i created a new task category on WinEPIM
- i created in this category a main task "MainTask1"
- i created in this category a 2. main task "MainTask2" with 2 sub tasks "Sub1" and "Sub2"
- i created a subtask for "Sub1", called "SubSub1"
- synced with iPhone
-> all with different notification
-->> only the notification for "SubSub1" is shown on iPhone, on WinEPIM all are shown

- I tested this behavior also with just one main task and one sub task -> only the sub-sub task (including sibilings) raises a notification on iPhone.
- both results are independent of the database

Would be nice to tell me, if I should open a new thread in this forum. And inform me if this is a software problem.

Thanks in advance...
