Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
I use Icon navigation on my desktop with 175% scaling, and hidden navigation on my laptop as on my laptop notes is the only module I use.
I do agree with others in that the current state of favorites and recent system is far from ideal, it's too cumbersome to use. Moving it to the navigation pane does not seem like a good idea. I most use this feature on my laptop, but I will would not enable the navigation pane to use it, and having to deal with a main menu fallback options to switching between modes would render it even more cumbersome than it already is.
Out of the idea's presented thus far, I believe having an option to show both the note tree, and the favorites list on screen at the same time is the best option.

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
As someone who uses the wide layout in notes, I would like to point out that adding a second pane for favorites and recent could fix a long standing major flaw / annoyance in the wide layout: The complete waste of space to the right of the tree.

We hear you, although I'm afraid we'll not be able to make anymore changes regarding how the feature looks like before the final 10.0 version release. Although, I can promise we will take all your suggestions into account when working on EPIM 10.1. We will have to introduce some interface changes in that version as it's going to support multiple calendars. So I encourage you to continue actively participating in the discussion when the first 10.1 Beta version is out so that we can make it at least ideal if not perfect

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
Did I understand correctly that version 10.0 does not yet have support for multiple independent calendars?

I can live with new features not working right for a while, wouldn't be the first time something was introduced that I couldn't' use at first, but became awesome later. Though I am concerned about that's last screenshot you shared. .admin wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:21 pm We hear you, although I'm afraid we'll not be able to make anymore changes regarding how the feature looks like before the final 10.0 version release. I too use Icon navigation with a screen scaling of 175%, the windows default for my screen, and don't want to have a broken navigation bar for half a year, so hopefully something can be done about that, at the very least reverting back to the system that's in RC1. It's not great, but it doesn't break anything.
I would suggest shorting the names, but I couldn't figure out anything that they could be shortened to that would make sense.
I'd wager one of the reasons why Icon navigation is so popular as is, is because of half snapping. The normal navigation takes up far too much space in a half screen snap. Half screen snapping has been very popular. Nearly half of all the people I know use half screen snapping, so I would high recommend testing all new UI changes in a half screen snap in general.

Haldex, support for multiple calendars is planned for the 10.1 version.
FireBrand2026, as a workaround you can manually shorten the phrases yourself in the language file if they do not fit for your current config.

Make sure you're a Beta tester, in this case you'll get access to the feature sooner

Thank you for the Great Update.
Please provide a way to convert from C to F degree weather on the calendar.

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
There should* be an option for that in tools > Options > calendar > weather
However I noticed that this option is only there on my fresh portable version 10 EPIM and not the one I updated from version 9 where it is missing:

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
On my EPIM Pro v9 (Desktop) DB used for V10, the C / F degree choice is working. Perhaps there was a silent update to V10 that addressed this?MetalDrop wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 9:54 pmThere should* be an option for that in tools > Options > calendar > weather

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
There was a silent update, although it only addressed an issue related to conversion of EPIM databases to the new 10.0 version on Windows 7.
As for the missing option - please make sure the language file was updated properly.

Now the Version 10.1 is released, but I do not read any comment about multiple calendars!?
Am I right?
