Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Android Version 6.0.14
Windows Version 11.7
Wifi Sync
2-way. sync both EPIM and Android with each other
1- I downloaded the EPIM 11.7 program from the site.
2- I opened a new database in EPIM 11.7 program.
3- I transferred the data from the old database to the new database with the "EPIM Synchronizer" program. (11.6.6----->11.7)
4- I deleted the program on the phone. I reinstalled the program on the phone.
5- I synchronized the database on the phone as empty. I didn't get any errors.
I did everything up to this point on 12.09.2023.
Everything was working smoothly.
Today it gives synchronization error.14.09.2023
I tried to explain it in short sentences to avoid any change in meaning due to translation. I hope it was understandable. How we can solve this problem?

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Please forward me the full log file via PM, as some crucial parts needed to understand the issue are missing from the excerpt you pasted. Thank you!

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Hello
I too am having sync issues since the update to v11.7.
For what it's worth, I think the problem may be related to tasks since actual appointments appear to be getting sync'ed. No tasks are sync'ed however.
The error on the desktop pc reads: Waiting for connection... Connection lost. Check your connection and try again.
For ADMIN: I'll attempt to send the log file and a screenshot of the error message via PM.
Cheers

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Thanks, we received the log file. The problem does seem to be related to tasks. There are many attachments included, and it's possible that your Android phone may not have enough resources to handle them all. Please try either limiting the number of tasks synchronized or removing some of the attachments from the tasks.

Windows 11 (22H2)
EPIM 11.6.6
validation error for column
"HISTNOTETABS". "IDNOTEHISTORY"
value "*** null***"
At trigger 'NOTETABS AUT' line: 13,
This error exists since version 11.6 and unfortunately it could not be fixed yet. It occurs when synchronizing notes with Android. But based on the log file and the database file no error could be found so far. But apparently, according to this forum, with version 11.7 there are again synchronization problems with several modules. In version 11.6.6 there were only problems with the notes. Unfortunately, each new version always brings new synchronization problems, probably because the databases of Windows and Android are not fully compatible after that. Unfortunately, I have no further information about the problem. I will forgo the update to 11.7 for now, maybe there will be a solution to the problem at some point after all.

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Thanks admin. I've looked through my tasks (including completed) and can only find 3 tasks that have attachments. The attachments are all small - less than 100 KB each. So I'm not sure why that would be the issue, although I have 102 task overall which may be a problem? In terms of phone resources, I have used only 28% of the total available storage and I'm not sure what other resources come into play here. I tried limiting the scope of the sync to 30 days past and 6 months future (not sure if this affects tasks or only the calendar) but this didn't help.
Things have moved on in any case. Yesterday I decided to subscribe to EPIM Cloud which something I've thought about for ages. This seemed to go OK although again, my tasks didn't appear to sync through the cloud. I'm still on a learning curve with EPIM cloud and I'm not sure I'll continue with it. For the moment, I've deleted the Cloud sync from my database in order to concentrate on troubleshooting the Android sync issues.
A couple of things have changed, possibly triggered by the EPIM cloud sync:
1. Every time I launch EPIM (i.e. the Windows desktop version), the Sync Status window pops up (see attached screen shot). I have not initiated a sync and I can't find any way to stop this.
2. When trying to sync with my Android phone, I now get the following error message on my phone:
Connection error
Unable to connect. Check firewall settings on your computer.
I've checked the firewall settings (it's just the Win10 firewall, not third party) and EssentialPIM is allowed through the firewall for private networks, which is what I'm on. Network discovery and file and printer sharing are also on.
I use the portable version of EPIM btw.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
An update on this:
I went into Database Management and cleared all the synchronization data. I then deleted all my synchronizations (File > Synchronization > Edit Synchronization > Delete All Synchronizations). This has stopped the Synchronization Status window popping up at program launch (Yay!).
I have set up a new Android synchronization but this fails every time. I'm getting one of two errors:

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
According to the log file, it appears that there are 558 tasks with attachments, which could be the cause of the problem you are experiencing. To address this issue, you could try removing or reducing the number of attachments associated with these tasks.

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
OK, that's very strange. I rarely use attachments and from what I can tell in my DB, I have a total of 562 tasks (including completed) only three of which have attachments. Even taking calendar appointments into account, there are only six of these that have attachments. A corruption of the DB??

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Please check the number of attachments by opening up the Attachments Manager, which can be accessed from the Tools menu.

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
Thank you. In this particular scenario, the number of tasks being synchronized can impact the situation. To address this, I suggest excluding certain tasks from the synchronization process. By doing so, you may be able to alleviate any issues you're experiencing.

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
OK, thank you. I may have misunderstood your earlier post which I took to mean that the log file was indicating 558 attachments. I think though you were saying there are 558 tasks, some of which have attachments - is this correct? As above, my Attachments Manager is showing only 7 attachments.
Excluding tasks from the sync is not a particularly palatable solution. I'm not sure how I can do this anyway - any advice appreciated.
I've discovered something else: new tasks are being sync'ed. That is, if I create a new task and sync the DB to my phone, the new task appears on my phone, even though I still get the 'connection lost' error message. I'm contemplating deleting and then recreating all my tasks. This would be a long and tedious process but I may end up doing it in hopes it will resolve things.
Is there a limit to the number of tasks that can be synchronized? Would I be better off using an all day appointment (as I used to do before I discovered the power of tasks
)

Re: Synchronization Error (Version11.7)
I've solved my problem as follows:
.
- I created a copy of my existing database (save as new name)
- I then deleted all the tasks in the new DB except those already completed. I was concerned that, for recurring tasks, I might lose the history of completed instances, but thankfully this doesn't seem to have happened.
- I then sync'ed to my phone without any issue
- I have re-added all the tasks (about 100 tasks in three different lists) and be able to successfully sync to my phone. Only one of the new tasks has an attachment.
