Notifications linger

I get notifications on new email but after reading or deleting them the Win 11 notification icon won't go away automatically. When I click on the icon it will occasionally jump to an already read random deleted email marked as important by the sender. Permanently deleting that email works but will choose a different deleted item the next time.

We would appreciate it if you could record a small video demonstrating the whole process from start to finish. So far, we haven't been able to reproduce the problem. Thanks.
