A shortcut key just for time.
The week day Thu 1/18/4 is great, I like to keep the date short as possible. "Th 1/18/4 " most of the time that is all that is needed.
Sometimes I need the time added to the end of the date, It's a little awkward to have to select the time and go back and re-select the date to put it back like it was.
I think a shortcut just for the time would be very handy, Ctrl+Shift+Space seems to be a good choice, this way you wouldn't have to go back into the date and time menu to re-set your selection.

What you can do is enable the "Use Shift+Space to insert date and time" option and then use Ctrl+Space to bring up the Date and Time dialog window to quickly choose the format you need.

Re: A shortcut key just for time.
Thanks, I know about the Shift+Space feature but that only keeps you from having to select the menu icon.
Why can't there be a way to insert the time with a one click. Why have to go through the Date and Time menu to do that?
Why can't a second click on the space bar while the Ctrl is still down insert the Time after the Date?
Just trying to make it better.

Re: A shortcut key just for time.
You can customize the date to be whatever you like. I had the same need and now date and time exactly the way I want it. I am thinking you can also customize to show just time?

Yes I know that, but you have to customize it again when you want to insert the date. There should be a way to customize both separately.

Re: A shortcut key just for time.
+1
A separate short cut just for time would be appreciated. I journal a day on a single note, headline the date only, and have entries underneath that are time stamped. So currently, I do "Ctrl-Space', then I have to delete the date each time to get only the time part - tedious.

Re: A shortcut key just for time.
I use NirCmd from Nirsoft for this (https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html)
This works universal in all of Windows.
1. Make a .bat-file with the text "C:\Windows\nircmd clipboard set "~$currdate.yyyy-MM-dd - $""
2. Get a keyboard shorcut launcer program, I use Keyboard launchpad from Windowblinds (https://www.stardock.com/products/klp/download) but there are other free and open source alternatives (maybe something from this list https://alternativeto.net/category/util ... y-mapping/).
3. Assign a key combination to launch the .bat-file.
Alt + D gives me a nice date in the clipboard ready to paste to what I like "2024-01-22 - "
Alt + T gives me the date "20:16 - "

Konserv;
30 or 40 years ago batch files were the way to go, but not these days.
Not for me, sorry
Thanks
