12.2 / size column width to optimum
Hi there,
today downloaded/installed 12.2 version.
What I realise, is, that in horizontal views (table views) width of columns is very small. To view content I have to move borders to normal width.
Is there a possibility to get optimum width automatically (as to content, which is there), without needing to change each column?
Thx

Double-clicking on the vertical divider between the two columns should adjust the column on the left to its optimal width, based on the length of its longest content.

You cannot do that. Is there a situation where you find the current behavior disruptive?

@admin
So this means I will have to do that double-clicking for each column, which will make me busy for quite a long time! I would suggest to have a function in options to do that for all columns automatically???

Let's hope there are, because it really is some kind of frustration.
One more question to that:
How do I save column widths, to have it there again after restart?
Thx

On my side, they are not. After restart it's the same again.
Well to be honest ... I just had another try ... doing doubleClicks on some deviders, I have correct widths there. But after restart only some widths are correct and others are not again.
So horizontal views are not usable for me.

Re: 12.2 / size column width to optimum
Hello admin,
I mainly use the “Customized View” for content-oriented display and due to the dynamic column width, content that is important to me is sometimes no longer fully displayed.
I prefer to scroll the table than to adjust it each time according to my preferences.
Regards M&M

poet-man, could you please record a short video demonstrating the issue?
M&M, understood, thank you very much for the explanation. We'll look into introducing an option that allows users to choose between the new and old behavior types.

Re: 12.2 / size column width to optimum
Hello admin,
unfortunately the column width is not saved for me, I have to set the column width every time I start EPIM - quite annoying.
Does saving the column width have to be set in the options - I haven't found an option though.

Re: 12.2 / size column width to optimum
I don't have 12.2 in use yet, so I'm not sure if I understand it correctly. But it would really bother me if columns changed automatically and/or independently due to the content. I am happy to have a uniform setting across many task fields, which is why I think the copy function of the view is great. So the look is always the same.admin wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 12:45 pm You cannot do that. Is there a situation where you find the current behavior disruptive?
If I understood correctly that the columns keep changing here, that would be an absolute setback for me.
